Thank you Add me Uplay Username : mister. It seems that Ubisoft's enthusiasm for this style of gameplay was going to spread to Black Flag's competitive multiplayer offering as well. The developers have mentioned that Naval maps were going to be included originally, but technology and time sadly prevented them from doing so. Being able to hop between boats assassinating targets would have been an incredible experience, but it is something fans never got.

After the disaster that was Assassin's Creed: Unity and the mediocre Syndicate , Ubisoft knew that they had to overhaul the franchise to keep the series relevant. Fans had to wait for two years before Assassin's Creed: Origins released. It overhauled combat, introduced Ancient Egypt as a setting instead of renaissance-era locations, and it didn't come with multiplayer.

Dedicated multiplayer fans were angered by this decision, but it was made to redirect resources to the core game. With how negatively received Unity and Syndicate were, Ubisoft wanted to make the core foundation of the series solid before incorporating radical modes again. The developers of Assassin's Creed do want to reintroduce multiplayer into the series. While Origins and Odyssey were massive shifts in the direction of the series , Ubisoft does want to return to multiplayer at some point.

Certain developers at Ubisoft have been interviewed about the subject and they want to bring the social elements of multiplayer back. With how radically different the last two entries have been, it is somewhat hard to imagine what the competitive multiplayer offering would be. Considering the older games focused on stealth and assassinations, it will be interesting to see how multiplayer is handled in future titles, if it returns at all.
